Hoping for Mental Health Parity

This is not to be a technically impressive post.  The image is from my cell phone in low light.  I am also typing (slowly) on my cell phone while sitting in a talk.  I recently heard Patrick Kennedy speak with great enthusiasm about enforcing the mental health parity law he sponsored. The hope is to create greater ease of access to mental health services with fewer of the current manipulative and dishonest barriers imposed by insurance companies.  “No more separate and unequal treatment,” he declared.  I agree.

Kennedy  spoke movingly about his mental health difficulties and those of family members (now I need to buy his book).  What an inspiring politician he is.  He even said we should all get paid more.  He gets my vote.  Check out his website:  parityregistry.org .
